BayPunk Rag-House — The Un-Cult-Cult

What / Who Is BayPunk?

BayPunk is proud to introduce a new attidue in fashion:

*TradGrunge*

TradGrunge isn’t designed-

it’s felt.

It is a mood that runs on instinct, rebellion and comfort. Inside our online boutique, you’ll find secondhand clothing, footwear, and accessories that fuse old & new, tradition & defiance, straight-lace & punk — giving your mood full creative freedom.

Here, branded, unbranded, modern and ‘Yesterdays’ pieces coexist in perfect harmony — with only the occasional polyester scu-fuffle. Every piece is timeless, free from label obsession, fads, or trends. We don’t care about the who made it — we care about how you feel in it. Because real style isn’t about fashion. It’s about that Cooler-Than-Cool Factor — the one that kicks in the moment you feel kick-bum in your rags.

What Does This Mean For You?

Only B+ or better makes it into this shop. If it’s garbage, it’s gone. Anka’s rule is simple: no time for mediocrity. Items that make it here have already survived her patience test — ketchup stains, bad stitching, or bad attitudes whether on clothing or on people don’t pass and will not make it in her world…NEIN!

How Do We Care?

Background

BayPunk is a One-Woman-Operation, solely owned and run by German native Anka Adlerherz from Olympia, Washington.

Originally from the Lower Franconia countryside, she brings that old-world grit, precision, and uncompromising quality straight into every piece listed here…and she looks like a Christmas tree, according to a munchkin in the check-out line.

A woman with colored dreadlocks wearing a black top, green pants, and a red accessory around her neck, smiling at the camera against a beige backdrop.
In Anka’s own words…

I grew up safe and ultra-protected in the northern Bavaria country side, only a 2-mile gap between my family home and the former ‘Iron Curtain’.

Polishing shoes and sweeping the sidewalk every Saturday were chores my siblings and I shared. Call it weird, call it extra work, but to us it was normal like eating blood sausage for breakfast.

Hard core values were injected and tattooed into my DNA and it taught me to be completely self-reliant, independent and grounded. I’ve never lost my playful side and be the first one to volunteer for a harmless prank...prank nevertheless.

I’ve not compromised style or who I am since I was able to dress and speak for myself and that hasn’t changed. Say ‘Yes’ to the Lederhosen!

Queen Size Bed Spread

Each block of this queen size blanket is made up of an individual skein of yarn each. Also with each different block, a different crochet stitch was used.

Very cool Pocahontas vibe even way back when at Fasching in the year of 19-something-something. Perhaps Anka sensed back then that the Pacific Northwest was going to be calling her name later in life!

Still Sassy AF, but she means business…you’re in good hands, because the Bürgermeister watches the Lady.

Handmade Items

Each item is cleaned, conditioned, and given a strict inspection under Anka’s ruly eyes before it ever makes it to the carrier.

Fashion Rules?

There aren’t any. Only common sense, imagination, and a mirror. It’s not about labels or trends—it’s about how you feel in your clothes.

Blueberry Picking Excursion

in pink crepe

Anka’s answer to being forced to pick blueberries in the forest on a Sunday afternoon. She may or may not have put on her light pink dress out of spite. Her mood was clear…PPPPPFFFFF…stupid blueberry picking.

Now her brother on the other hand...ready, locked and loaded.

Anka was quite ‘eigensinnig’ and begged her Mutti for some time to buy this Persian Woolly Lamb coat for her until her Mutti gave in and Anka was happy and her Mutti’s nerves were saved.

In her hand she has a burgundy suede leather purse with at least 6” long fringes!
